We had a fantastic time at the Halloween disco in our spooky costumes! Check out the pictures!! 🎃🧙‍♀️👻

Thanks to our fantastic Parents Association and Lidl we got to carve our own class pumpkin! Each class was given a sponsored pumpkin and were asked to take part in a competition to see who could carve the best pumpkin. We had great fun coming up with designs. We had a class vote and Alex’s design came out top!! We named our pumpkin Brainless Bob!!!  Unfortunately we did not win but we still had great fun! Well done to Múinteoir Eilish’s Junior Infants and Múinteoir Grace’s 5th who won the competition!! 😄😄

This week in music generation we met our new violins for the very first time! We were VERY excited and learnt a rap on how to hold our violin properly. We also learnt about the names of the different parts of the violin!  At the end of the lesson we got to hear some spectacular pieces of music from Ciara, Ingrid and Karen. We are so lucky to be learning this new instrument!

We celebrated Maths week in Second Class!  First we played some games with some of the mums and dads and had so much fun!! We had loads of fun 😊 We also made some cool Maths art after learning about data 🖼  We even had a superstar Mathlete who tried extra hard this week!! 

We enjoyed the wonderful cake sale in school today. All of the cakes and buns were so yummy! Thanks to all the parents for the wonderful help and for the mums, dads and children for their great baking skills!!! 

Second class had a talk from Zeeko on how to use our phones, tablets, game consoles and smart TVs safely. We talked about how to deal with cyber bullying, social media and digital stranger danger and learned what our digital footprint is. We found the talk very interesting and are going to make sure we are playing games and using the internet safely. We are very lucky in 2nd class as we will be taking part in the Music Generation programme this year. Our teachers Ingrid and Ciara teach us lots of new things in music such as what a ‘steady beat’ is and the names of different musical notes.  After Halloween we are very excited as we will be beginning to learn the violin!  Check out some of the games and activities we do each week !

Dear Parents, Our annual curriculum meeting will take place on Tuesday 08th October 2019 at 1:30 in M. Rachael’s classroom. During this time I will outline the curriculum that will be covered throughout the year, methodologies used in our classroom and how you can support your child at home.
